Council Meetings

The Council Meetings are open to the public and there is a Public Participation Period whereby parishioners have an opportunity to raise a topic and speak for three minutes, subject to registration with the Clerk beforehand. Members of the public may raise issues with any Councillor of the Parish Council outside of meetings, and request the issue be included on the Agenda.

Money spent by the Council is raised through the Precept, the Parish Council’s share of the Council Tax. The Precept Demand goes to Torridge District Council on an annual basis. Shebbear Parish Council is in the Local Authority Area of Torridge District Council.
